on thursday, i got my hair cut. this is a bigger deal than it sounds, due to my overwhelming fear of hairdressers. i don’t know if it’s just me or if other people out there feel the same, but the thought of sitting in a chair and letting someone just do what they will with my precious locks, combined with rather awkward conversation (you can only find so many things to say to a stranger. i run out of ideas by hour three) is just not one of my favourites. so much so that i tried convincing my poor, put-upon boyfriend that i had changed my mind and lets just go home when approaching the hairdressers…
to comply with stereotype, i hated my hair when the hairdresser had finished. i checked it in every single reflective surface on the streets of manchester, and may have even shed a disconsolate tear or two. by the end of the day though, i secretly quite liked it; and the next day i was happy with it, much to the exasperation of that same boyfriend.
new hair and new handmade headdresses inspired this shoot in a very overgrown playground near where i live, which was full of crickets and sunshine :) i can imagine children’s adventure stories being set in places just like it and it seemed very appropriate that i was wearing a fistful of feathers on my head :)
in other, vintage news, i have been busy sourcing and hemming my new collection, and am hoping to be posting previews at the end of this week! exciting :)
and finally, romilly has been featured on the market publique blog, as part of their ‘how do you wear your vintage’ selections! it’s so exciting seeing one of my pictures among all the other fantastic ones from girls from all over the world :) and it seems a worthy credit to the lovely people who help take photographs too… thank you! and thank you to pamela at market publique :)
