this will probably be the fastest, least eloquent blog post in a while. the reason is that i am jetting off (if you can call ryanair jetting…) to the canary islands in 15 hours’ time, and have therefore pulled out all the stops to photograph, edit, measure, describe and list eleven new items for your viewing pleasure. no, i haven’t packed. yes, i do have to go out and buy suncream, moisturiser, mascara. yes, i am leaving for my friend’s in five hours. on the bright side, i’ve made a packing list :)
these items will come on sale starting from seven p.m. tomorrow evening, when i shall be ensconced by the pool in tenerife. seeing as september is creeping up, and that all the stores are suddenly full of sombre colours, knits and coats, the same is happening at romilly… so there is more than the usual number of warm snuggly things. it seems so odd to be listing these when i’m going to be throwing bikinis and vests into a suitcase in a minute!

despite being a 100% sun-worshipper, i am sort of looking forward to the winter season. i have my eye on some new boots… and i have a genuine weakness for big, layered scarves. and i like knits. in general, i am a shopaholic :)
have a lovely, snuggly, cozy time! i am off to catch those rays… see you in a week :)

tess
as promised, here is the new collection of vintage lovelies that are coming to the shop on monday night. today, i’ve named them ‘tess’. it wasn’t going to be ‘tess’ originally, it was supposed to be ‘working girl’, but the connotations that summons up are too… well too. both ‘tess’ and ‘working girl’ refer of course to the 1988 film of the same name, where tess mcgill (played by melanie giffith) is the central character. apart from getting harrison ford and having the most adorable butter-wouldn’t-melt voice, tess frolics (or strides?) around in a fantastic 80s wardrobe, including some floor sweeping coats and power suits. it’s a good film :)
so in ode to the wardrobe…

all these treasures start at a measly £0.99, so you have no excuse for missing out :)
i’ve spent the last week sniffing out vintage dresses and then of course chopping them down to make them much more today-friendly. i’ve become seriously adept at hemming too, in the process, and have been casting an eye over my own wardrobe for things i can chop up and alter… zara top, i’m coming for you!
now if you’ll excuse me, i am hosting film night tonight and better go and prepare.
have a super weekend!
